Der Autor hat das Wort: „Die Einleitung 1.Sf5+ Kb5 2.Sd4+ Ka5 ist klar, doch nun wäre 3.Ld8+? Kb4 verfrüht, da dem weißen König das Feld b6 nicht zugänglich ist. Daher muss zunächst der störende Ba7 mittels 3.Sc6+! Kb5 4.S:a7+ Ka5 beseitigt werden. Wieder ist es aber mit 5.Ld8+? Kb4 nichts, nach 6.Kb6 c2 7.Lf6 pariert d4! 8.L:d4 c3. Daher muss der Springer mit 5.Sc6+! Kb5 6.Sd4+ Ka5 wieder zurück, um den Bauer d5 festzulegen, auch wenn nun die große Diagonale verstellt ist. Dennoch geht jetzt der Hauptplan 7.Ld8+ Kb4 8.Kb6 c2, denn nach 9.Lf6! lebt
die Drohung Sc6 weiterhin auf. Am besten verteidigt sich Schwarz dagegen mit Kc3 (c3? 10.Sc6+ Kc4
11.Sa5+ Kb4 12.Le7#) 10.Sf3+ Kb4 (d4? 11.L:d4+ Kb4 12.Se5 c3 13.Lc5#). Mit 11.Ld4! sichert Weiß
die Rückkehr des Springers über e5 nach c6, worauf Schwarz noch versuchen kann, sich mittels Sc1
12.Se5 Ta1 Fluchtfelder zu verschaffen. Doch auf c1 fällt der schwarze Springer der dritten Batterie genau vor die Füße mit der Folge 13.Sc6+ Ka3 14.Lc5+ Ka2 15.Sb4+ Ka3 16.S:d3+ Ka2 17.S:c1#.“ „Der weiße König b7 muss nach b6, der schwarze nach b4. 1.Sf5+? Der schwarze König braucht deshalb die Luftlöcher a3 und c3 und wird immer weiter nach unten ins Mattnetz getrieben. Nicht streng neudeutsch-logisch, aber immerhin strategisch tief durchdacht.
