Mit diesem Problem startete der 'Clipper' in neuer Aufmachung (neudeutsch Relaunch, u.a. nun Logo mit Schachbezug), deswegen wohl auch neue Numerierung ("New Series"). Im 'Clipper' als Einsendung von "Astaroth" als "Challenge to Annie" publiziert, ohne Angabe von Originalquelle- und Autorschaft, was die Bewidmete am 03.05.1856 zu folgender Reaktion veranlaßte:"Poor Astaroth! he was indeed inspired when he sat himself down before the Chess-board and framed his 'Challenge to Annie.' Alas! the spirit of Herr Kuiper (departed or living) wantonly reized him, pointed his fingers to the pieces, and placed them on the fatal squares.

Und der 'Clipper' wenig erfreut: "we ... have an infernal pain, that our newly-dressed CLIPPER has made its debut with a second-hand (respects to Herr Kuiper) original problem. It would require much time to pore over all the leaves of our Chess library to ascertain bona fide contributions from correspondents. We hope for no such occurrence again. Sans adieu!"
