Henrik Juel: White must not commit himself too early
1.f8=D,Kh7? g2!
1.f8=S? L~!
Solution error: 1... g2 2.f8=S!&Se6? g3!
The dual 2.f8=S&Sd7,Sh7 can be avoided by adding wPd7, I think (2020-03-18)
James Malcom: I'm trying to trick PDB into showing an animation, but to no sucess so far. Can anyone possibably do it please? (2020-08-06)
Henrik Juel: Nice try, James, but now the solution is rather unclear
1.f8=B! Lf1,Lg2 2.Bf8=D&Kh7 Th1 3.Dxh6#
1... g2 2.Bf8=S&Sd7 (or 2.Bf8=S&Sh7) g3 3.Sf6# (2020-08-06)
A.Buchanan: At the very least, replace sLh3 with sB, so 1. f8=D? g2! & 1. f8=S? h2! become tries. Is there a name for the theme where the tries in a three-mover become the second moves after a non-committal key? Then in such a tiny problem, the dual 2. Sd7/Sh7 does offend. Shift wBf7 to b7, wKh8 to g7. (2020-08-07)
