Here White has sacrificed an active "hero" which had first played a serious role in the position.
But on developing the sacrificial idea I came to the conclusion that it would be more thematic if I made an effort to sacrifice a Knight which could not give mate despite its proximity- only the more distant Knight can give the mate. Moreover, I tried also to include the Bishop sacrifice."
