Mario Richter: Was ist der Unterschied zwischen den Keywords "Zuglängenrekord" und "Längenrekord"? (2020-04-30)
Mario Richter: Sorry James, something went wrong during my input, the pieces on c6 and g5 are rooks, not Queens. So the keyword "Non-standard material" doesn't apply ... (2020-04-30)
Mario Richter: Btw., Cheron spent much space to prove the (imho obvious) legality of the Position ... (2020-04-30)
James Malcom: No problem, Mario. I’m just doing my rounds. Btw, I just reached 4000 updates on the statistics page! (2020-04-30)
Alfred Pfeiffer: Zwischen den Keywords "Zuglängenrekord" und "Längenrekord" gibt es m.E. keinen Bedeutungsunterschied,
Statistik: "Längenrekord" 100 Aufgaben in der PDB,
"Zuglängenrekord" 6137 Aufgaben, davon 6000 Serienzüger (2020-04-30)
A.Buchanan: Maybe I can dust off my python beautiful soup screen-scraper and unify these keywords. Which one would you prefer to end up with? (Effort is the same, if we move 100, then we can easily rename the other stack of 6137+100=6237.) (2020-04-30)
A.Buchanan: Wow so many updates James! Wonderful - I see I only need another 1000 to overtake Olaf :D:D:D (2020-04-30)
A.Buchanan: I have changed the 100 Length Record entries to Move Length Records, and removed Length Record as a keyword (2020-05-01)
Alfred Pfeiffer: Thank you, Andrew, for doing the change. (2020-05-01)
A.Buchanan: Welcome, Alfred: I'm 100 closer to overtaking Olaf in the "updates" statistics :) (2020-05-01)
James Malcom: That’s already 10% of the way to overtaking Olaf! (2020-05-01)
Mario Richter: If you need some more ideas for your update activities, here some suggestions:
1. there are several hundred problems with a twin stipulation, where the twin positions are not yet in the PDB
2. there are several hundred retro problems missing the Genre='Retro' tag
3. there are several hundred problems from the Brian Stephenson Collection where the Import into the PDB was only partially successful (e.g. missing author)
4. ...

Btw., Andrew, did you change all the 100 problems by hand? A DB-adminstrator could change them all with a SQL-oneliner in a few seconds ... (2020-05-02)
A.Buchanan: Hi Mario, yes I did - it took a few seconds each. A trip down memory lane since many of them I am familiar with. A DBA good do it quickly, but the only DBA is Gerd, and I would prefer for him to respond to requests like set up castling for Chesss960, or wacky promotions. I do have a python /beautiful soup script which works like a charm, but requires setting up python again: I always get stuck in open source version management hell. I have used it to make thousands of changes in PDB already. Any one want the source I can chat with them. (2020-05-02)
