A.Buchanan: So no twinning in the original? What's the point of sDb3? It can be replaced by sB without issue. This problem doesn't appear in WinChloe, so can't check (2021-02-12)
VL: The author could, e.g., prefer the position with black Queen as richer and more hidden for solution. (2021-02-12)
A.Buchanan: Hi Valery well dressing the board is a hypothesis. There is no try to compensate for loss of economy. Indeed here sD forms a distracting battery which “pins” sLd3. It’s all too easy to add this kind of “richness” (noise) to a problem but more is less in my humble opinion. Unless it was a thematic tourney or we are missing a twin, my top hypothesis is that the composer did very well without a computer to make a sound h#4, and it’s easy these days to see a minor improvement. 'Kehrwieder': "Eine harte Nuß mit zuckersüßem Kern ist dieses zu Unrecht vergessene Meisterwerk. Ganzgeräuschlos, ohne Drohungen und ohne Schachgebote wird dem schwarzen König in einer reichen Fülle schöner Mattbilder sein Schicksal bereitet. Sehr fein ist, wie jeder Zug des La4 sich auf andere Weise verhängnisvoll auswirkt."

Hier Dreizüger-Thema B2, Ausschreibung 2. WCCT 1980: Im ersten Zug wird Schwarz gezwungen,
eine gefesselte s. Figur D,T,S,L (nicht B) zu behindern (Verstellung oder Block auf
einem Feld). Dies ermöglicht Weiß die Entfesselung der s. Figur durch einen s t i l l e n
zweiten Zug seiner fesselnden Figur (also direkte Entfesselung).

AV: On corrige le problème avec un pion noir (black pawn) b2 ; il reste seulement un dual au 3e coup dans la variante 1...Cb6 2 Fd5! (2007-08-27)
Teppo Mänttä: Cooked by 1.La2!, 1.Lb3!. I suggest a correction: add a bl. Pawn b2 AND remove the black Knight a4. Then it is sound and there are three different model mates. (2021-07-31)
Teppo Mänttä: (+bl.Pb2, -bl.Sa4) 1.Lh6! (2021-07-31)
A.Buchanan: Nice fix! WinChloe reproduces the cook. Maybe someone can check Album? (2021-07-31)
Jan Hein Verduin: Black pawn b2 is also missing in the FIDE album. Or it never was there to begin with. (2021-07-31)
Mario Richter: The original source is available at the Problemist Website. Black pawn b2 is also missing there too. (2021-07-31)
A.Buchanan: Is the dual threat thematic? (2021-08-01)
Teppo Mänttä: The same two threats are in all versions that I know of. I am not sure if the threats have any thematic value. In the version with bl.Sa4 and bl.Pb2 (6+11) there are variations 1.--- Sb6,Sc3 2.Ld5 Sxd5 3.Lg5+ and 1.--- Sc5 2.Lg5+ Ke5 3.Dxh8+. (2021-08-01)
