Arnold Beine: Nach 4...hxg1=D#!? in meinen Augen unlösbar, denn die Umwandlungsdame ist doch unverletzlich. Auch nach 5.Kxg1 Lc5+ gäbe es kein Matt im 8. Zug. Oder bedeutet "unverletzlich", dass auch Schwarz keinen Zug ausführen darf, der Weiß zwingt, diesen Stein zu schlagen? Dann würde 4...hxg1=L!! immer noch für Unlösbarkeit sorgen. (2024-02-18)

Leider läßt sich die Stellung auch beginnend mit R: 1. a5-a6 Ka8-b8 2. Ta6xTa7+ auflösen, so daß diese Aufgabe wohl "cooked" ist.

Füge einen wT so ein, daß Weiß #1
Weiße Schlagfälle: a2xDb3, sLc8f8; schwarze Schlagfälle: c7xLb6, h7xg6xf5xe4xd3xBc2. +wTc1? (1. Txa1#) +wTa8! (1.Txa7#). Zur Auflösung der Stellung muß ein wL auf b6 entschlagen werden und nach c1 zurückgebracht werden. Dann kann nach Rücknahme von wBd2-d3, sBd3xBc2 und sBe4xDd3 die wD nach d1 zurückgebracht werden. Die schwarzen Türme müssen nach h2 und h3 gebracht werden. Da aber der wK nicht über g2 nach e1 kann, muß er vor Zurücknahme von d2-d3 auf die Grundreihe gebracht werden. Auf g1 läßt er dann die wD nach d1. Für einen weiteren wT ist im Korridor c1-g1g2h2h3 einfach kein Platz mehr!

K.Fabel schreibt: "vor 1910" (vermutlich das Datum einer Sekundärquelle). Da Sardotsch bereits 1898 gestorben ist, dürfte das Original-Publikationsdatum noch weiter in der Vergangenheit liegen.
Englischsprachige Problemzeitschriften schreiben den Vornamen des Komponisten übrigens "Nicholas" und lassen ihn Österreicher (aus Triest) sein, der zeitweise in Italien lebte.
