Thema des TT ('The Problemist' 09/1992, S. 88): "... composers are required to combine 2 (or more) problems to make a distinct third."
A),(B) and (C) come together as something quite new in (D). But note a minimal record: 5 pieces, cyclic absence of 2 of the pieces, 4 different series-demands, and only ideal mates! Was Holmes right in thinking that a later model of Prof Babbage's "engine" (Cambridge,1834) determined the solving conditions and lengths?"

(G. Bakcsi). 1.Lh6?

(\eb)

Viktoras Paliulionis: The problem shows a rare theme - Brunner-Zepler doubling. Rh5-f5 is an anti-critical move there. Additionally, there is Klasinc wR-wR. (2021-02-11)
