Bei einem Rundlauf ist es schon ein Unterschied, ob sich die Wege des betreffenden Steins irgendwo kreuzen, oder ob es sich um einen „verallgemeinerten Kreis“ handelt („Ringmanöver“) – was man ursprünglich und intuitiv mit dem Begriff meinen würde. Daher nennt der Autor den Damenweg g6-g8-d5-d7-h7-g6 mit dem Kreuzungsfeld f7 zur Unterscheidung mit Recht ein „cross closed ring manoeuvre“. „Wegen der freistehenden schwarzen Dame kommt wieder nur Dauerschach infrage.“ (KHS)
