(G. Rinder) ist ein Prachtstück aus der XVI. Weltmeisterschaft im Lösen von Schachproblemen, Bonn 1992. Nach 1.Tb8 mit der Drohung 2.Td8 muß Schwarz erst einmal die Verteidigung 1.- Tc8! 2.T:c8 Kb6 finden. Nun führt 3.g5 Kb7 4.Tf8 K:c7 5.T:f7 T:h4 6.K:g6 Kc6 lediglich zum Remis. Mittels 3.h5! g:h5 (3.- Kb7 4.Tf8) 4.g5 bläst Weiß jedoch zur Jagd auf den eingeklemmten Th7. Einfach gewinnt nun 4.- d5 5.Ta8! K:c7 6.g6 f:g6 7.Ta7+. Nach 4.- h4 muß Weiß jedoch eine gemeine Falle umgehen: 5.Te8 K:c7 6.g6 Th6! 7.K:f7 h3 8.g7 h2 9.Te1 h1D! 10.T:h1 T:h1 11.g8D Tf1+ 12.Ke7 Te1+ 13.Kf6 Te6+ mit theoretischer Remisstellung. Die Zugumstellung 5.g6! führt jedoch zum Ziel: 5.- Th6 scheitert nun an 6.K:f7 h3 7.Ta8! (ein besseres Feld als e8) K:c7 8.g7 h2 (8.- Th7 9.Th8) 9.g8D h1D 10.Db8+ Kc6 11.Ta6+ mit Matt in wenigen Zügen. 5.- f:g6 6.Te8! K:c7 7.K:g6 und auch der zweite schwarze Turm muß dran glauben.
