SBD: WDf5-g3, C+ (Gustav 3.1m) und "Pattaufhebung" bleibt auch. (2010-01-21)
Gerald Ettl: Verbesserungsvorschlag: +wBf6

SCHRECKE: Eine erneute Korrektur erschien in Schach 07/2018:

Henrik Juel: No record, P1182074 is far better in terms of giving Black moves, 32
But this problem also a #2 (2020-11-22)
A.Buchanan: First record in a new task (2020-11-22)
James Malcom: Henrik, you misunderstood! The task is different from the 32! This is about Black release in the #2 form, not releae in the fairy form. (2020-11-22)

Happy Holidays
By Mike Prcic
As the holiday season approaches, we are reminded of the current COVID-19 pandemic. It has been a difficult time for many of us. I have been in touch with many composers. Many are suffering, especially the older ones. Some are not infected but still need medical care, which is not available, since the hospitals are swamped with COVID-19 patients. One of StrateGems’ editors lost his younger brother to COVID-19. A long-time subscriber from Italy informed me that his whole family was infected. He had the hardest time with the infection but survived and is now COVID-19 negative.
On a positive side (if there is such a thing), we all have ample time for composing (and in my case for playing online bridge). WCCT-11 should benefit from the pandemic. Nevertheless, I hope the vaccine arrives soon, is effective, and that we all can go back to our lives.
To brighten the holiday spirit, Kurt Keller has sent a composition that reminds us of the Christmas tree. Thank you, Kurt!

From Kurt Keller’s sixmover, we can see that time is going fast. At the time of publication of Probleemblad, Christmas and 2022 are near. We like to adopt his motto above the problem: “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year”. Hopefully we will celebrate the festivities with less corona restrictions than last year. Of course you can use your time well by solving the 15 new problems in a cosy atmosphere.

Stefan Felber: Kein Modellmatt! (2023-10-27)
Henrik Juel: for what it may be worth: I also think that there is no model mate here (2023-10-30)

SBD: It would appear to me that the position as corrected here is correct, with the solution above quite incorrect since 4. Dh7 Kg3 5. Le5?? is mate, this must be the old solution combined with the new position. So I think it goes 4.Lf3-h1 Kh2-g3 5.La1-e5 Kg3-g4 6.Le5-h2 Kg4-g5 7.Dh8-h7 Kg5-g4 8.Ke2-f2 Kg4-g5 9.Kf2-g1 Kg5-g4 10.Dh7-f5 Kg4-h4 11.Lh2-g3 Kh4-g3 12.Df5-e4 Bh3-h2#, although I do not have Brute Force confirmation of that.
So I think the correction works, but await confirmation from someone with a better computer..... (2009-08-01)
Olaf Jenkner: It is well tested, probably correct, but I could not do Brute Force.
By the way, it's cheaper to use a better program than a better computer. (2009-08-01)
C+ Gustav 4.2a brute force (42,5h)! (2022-03-29)
