Der Angriffsversuch 1.S8a6 (2.Lb8) Ke5 2.Lc5? L:c5! zeigt, daß der Le7 weggelenkt werden muß. Ein „fortgesetzter Angriff der weißen Springer mit akuten Drohungen zwingt den schwarzen König zum Pendeln zwischen d6 und e5, ein weißes Springeropfer bringt schließlich die Entscheidung!“ (J.Benn, Petershagen-Windheim). Die Flucht des Königs nach e5 wird mit 1...Ke5 2.Sd7+ Kd6 3.Lb8 matt beantwortet. Beim Auftakt 1.S8a6!
