Der Versuch 1.Kg4 …Ka8 2.Kh5 …Kb8 3.Kg6 …Ka8 4.Kxf6 …Kb8 5.Kg5 usw. ist um einen Zug (bzw. zwei Züge) zu langsam. Deshalb muss sich Weiß etwas anderes einfallen lassen.

PAS-Läufer-Selbstmatt, Erstdarstellung. Es gibt ein früheres PAS-Läufer-Selbstmatt, welches aber mit 3 Vorschaltzügen arbeitet, siehe P1368789.

Dreifache weiße Unterverwandlung, weiße Rückkehr (Rundlauf) und Mustermatt. Die Manöver der weißen Züge zwei bis sechs werden in den Zügen sieben bis elf exakt gespiegelt „wiederholt“. Mit etwas Glück sehen wir hier das erste echte PAS-Läufer-Selbstmatt. ((-;

Fußnote MD:
In der Version mit +sLa7 und sKa8 ist die Aufgabe auch in 19 Zügen korrekt, dann mit zusätzlichem weißen Phönix, dann geht aber der PAS-Läufer verloren.
„Rund“ wäre die Aufgabe in zwanzig Zügen auch korrekt:
sKa8 sTb8, sBf6?f7, +wLd8. Aber auch dann kein PAS-Läufer mehr.

Inhalt:
Neudeutsch-logisches Selbstmatt. Der Hauptplan scheitert daran, dass der weiße König über b3 flüchten kann. Nachdem der weiße Springer umgruppiert wurde und der weiße Td3 stattdessen das Feld b3 blockt, kann der Hauptplan erfolgreich durchgeführt werden. Außerdem AZE und zweimal weiße Auswahl (im vierten und sechsten Zuge). Mustermatt.

Gefällt.“ (KHS) „Ein weiteres Schmuckstück und – angesichts der Firmierung – ‚Viele-Väter-Problem‘ aus dem Umfeld des WCCT mit verzögerten weißen Springeropfern und der Begründung, dass ein weißer Bauer vor Opferannahme erst flottgemacht werden muss.“ (RJ) „Die einleitenden aktiven Springeropfer (vgl. z. B. P1100473 & P1402302) und die Nutzung der schwarzen Umwandlungssteine zum Block auf demselben Feld verhalfen der AUW schon in der Bezugsaufgabe (s.Diagr.: I) 1.– Sc1 2.Le7 (2.Te7?) f:e7 3.b:c1=L (3.b:c1=D?) e8=D (3.– e8=S?) 4.Lg5 De2#, II) 1.– Sg1 2.Te7 (2.Le7?) f:e7 3.f:g1=T (3.f:g1=D?) e8=S (3.e8=D?) 4.Tg5 Sf6#) zu einer wohltuenden Einheitlichkeit, die die Aufteilung auf zwei schwarze Themabauern souverän übertüncht. In der vorliegenden Fassung fällt allerdings die Dualvermeidung zugunsten eines nur einphasig vorhandenen Versteckzuges des räumenden Turmes einfach weg, so dass ich die Neubearbeitung bei aller Anmut für einen Rückschritt halte. In dieser Form bleibt es im Wesentlichen nur eine (zugegeben recht hübsch) verlängerte Ausgabe der eigentlichen Urfassung von W. Stjopotschkin.“ (MRit) „Elegant konstruierte, gemischtfarbige Allumwandlung in Opferminimal-Form, aber zu den ‚Verführungen‘ fällt mir hier nichts Gescheites ein?!“ (HJä) „Diese AUW wurde von G. Jordan schon in die PDB gestellt und wurde dort mit einer interessanten Bemerkung von Y. Bilokin kommentiert (er ist der Meinung, dass die Umsetzung der Idee von S. K. Balasubramanian & S. Manikumar in ihrer Aufgabe ‚more meaningful‘ dargestellt wurde – MD), denn die Dualvermeidung ist beim Original viel deutlicher. Von Verführungen im h# halte ich nichts.“ (BK) Daran anknüpfend soll hier die ausführliche Meinung von RJ wiedergegeben werden: „Übrigens sehe ich die bei Hilfsmatts nun häufiger auftretenden v-Angaben unter den Diagrammen eher kritisch. Bezieht sich das ‚vv‘ hier auf die ersten schwarzen Züge? Dann hätte es noch weniger mit einem ‚vv‘ gemeinsam, was man von Direktmatts her kennt. Ehrlich gesagt habe ich bisher bei keinem Hilfsmatt solch eine v-Angabe als wirklich überzeugend und vor allem auch als notwendig empfunden. Das Themengemisch dieser gelungenen Aufgabe inklusive seiner diversen Auswahlmöglichkeiten für Weiß und Schwarz scheint mir jedenfalls auch ohne das ‚vv‘ verständlich zu sein. Die Aufgabe wird nicht besser dadurch, und den Löser – salopp gesagt eines Rätsels – von Vornherein auf besondere Feinheiten desselben hinzuweisen und ihm so eine gewisse eigene Denkleistung und analytische Sorgfalt schon wieder abzunehmen, halte ich persönlich für fragwürdig, sogar im Direktmatt. Auch wenn ich selber schon bei komplexeren Problemen solche v-Angaben vereinzelt befürwortet habe, stellt sich mir generell die Frage, ob ein Schachproblem letztlich nicht für sich selbst sprechen sollte?Wenn seine Intention durch die Komposition klar und deutlich wird, dann erkennt doch ein etwas geschulter Löser i. d. R. auch die verführerischen Abwege klar und deutlich. Wenn letztere aber klarwerden, wozu braucht es dann noch die v-Angabe unter dem Diagramm? Die Antwort darauf sollte doch sicher nicht lauten, dass vor allem unklare Probleme (was bei 19249 keineswegs der Fall ist!) den Löser so noch auf ihre Inhalte mit der Nase stoßen können. Und wenn den Autorinnen und Autoren selbst eine besondere Betrachtungsweise ihrer Aufgabe wichtig sein sollte, könnten sie dafür nicht die Lösungsbesprechung verwenden? Das aber nur einmal als Randgedanken; die Aufgabe selbst gefällt mir natürlich sehr gut!“ (RJ) Die Autoren hatten gleichzeitig mit der 19249 noch eine zweite Fassung eingereicht (s.Diagr.: I) 1.– Sc1 2.Se7? f:e7 3.b:c1=L e8=D 4.Lg5 De2+ 5.Dg4!, 3.– e8=S 4.Lg5 Sf6+ 5.L:f6!, 1.– Sc1 2.De7! f:e7 3.b:c1=L e8=D 4.Lg5 De2#, II) 1.– Sg1 2.De7? f:e7 3.h:g1=T e8=S 4.Tg5 Sf6+ 5.S:f6!, 3.– e8=D 4.Tg5 De2+ 5.Tg4!, 1.– Sg1 2.Se7! f:e7 3.h:g1=T e8=S 4.Tg5 Sf6#. Zusätzlicher Versuch: 1.– Sc3? 2.S:f6 Sd5 3.Se4 (3.Sh7?) Kb1 (einziges Tempo) Se4-g5+ Sd5-f6??#, 2.– Se4 3.Sh7 (3.S:e4?) Kb1 4.Sh7-g5 Se4-f6??#), die sie – bei aller Ähnlichkeit zur E34, speziell auch der Wiederholung des wB-Schlags – ebenfalls als publikationswürdig ansehen. Unterschiede zur E34: Vor allem der zusätzliche Versuch, bei dem der wS nicht als Opferfigur fungiert, sondern als Fast- Mattfigur, also eine Art „Zilahi“ S/B zwischen Versuch und Lösungen. Ferner Farbwechsel schwarzes Opfer / weiße Umwandlung – sD/wD und sS /wS statt Phönix sL/ sT in der E34. Und Meredith, mit 3 Steinen weniger. Ein anonym bleiben wollender Betrachter der Aufgabe sandte mir eine Version (s.Diagr. P1412442: I) 1.– Sb1 2. d5 c7 3.c:b1=L c8=D 4.Lf5 Dc1#, II) 1.– Sf1 2.Sd5 c:d7 3.e:f1=T d8=S 4.Tf5 Se6# (MM)), „die zwar ein paar Steinchen mehr aufweist, aber im Gegensatz zu den beiden ‚Vier-Männer-Versionen‘ eine echte Dualvermeidung aufweist, keine künstlich hineininterpretierte.“ Möge sich also jeder sein eigenes Bild machen.
