(M. Manhart & F. Pachl). Ein madrasitypisches Doppelschach muß her.

bei den Lösungen in 'The Problemist' May 2008 S. 396 heißt es: "Mixed AUW; White’s castling and the rook’s moves are eliminated by fairy conditions; stalemate by zugzwang (Composer). The wR on a1 cannot move to b1/c1/d1 as this would unparalyse the various black units and give self-check to the wK."
Cook: diese Autorintention geht gar nicht, dafür aber NLs (1+2 reklamiert von Romuald Lazowski, 'The Problemist' May 2008 S. 396):

paul: WinChloe gives the author's solution (only) in 9hours30min (on my PC). (2022-10-10)

Reihe stehen (NG).

Judge Maryan Kerhuel (Šachová skladba 122/2014): "Enriched by the theoretical statement about the Madrasi rule applied to e.p. captures, we discover a spectacular cyclical exchange of places by the 3 black pawns which, after promotion to S, return not to their home, but to the neighbour’s home. The scenario is achieved at the cost (unavoidable) of some captures of white pieces."
James Malcom: How is Sg7/g5 not a dualed move order at any point? I suppose I do not understand the words "theoretical statement about the Madrasi rule applied to e.p. captures". (2023-04-16)
Arnold Beine: @James: After 10.g5 this black Pawn is attacked/observed by wPf5 (en passant) and is therefore paralyzed and cannot move. After 11.Sg7 the wPf5 cannot capture the bPg5 any longer, therefore the bPg5 is not observed and can continue his escelsior. No duals, the problem is sound. (2023-04-16)
James Malcom: Ah, I see now; thanks. (2023-04-17)

Henrik Juel: Madrasi suggests promotions to W5, and Alphabetic Chess cuts down on the possibilities
The double stalemate is reached by two capturing promotions that block two white pawns

Henrik Juel: Amazing what can be achieved with these three conditions
If the solution is changed to the PDB standard (1. a2-a4 with a space, 5. a7-a8=S, etc.), it could be displayed (if Gerd has included the conditions) (2021-03-20)
Henrik Juel: Andrew, your definition of Alphabetic Chess here is as in the Schwalbe Märchenlexikon
But both omit explicitely telling us what to do, if the 'first' man cannot move: then you check the 'second' one, etc.
By the way, I really like the sample game in your definition of Annan Chess here (2021-03-20)
James Malcom: The solution is now animated, but I'm pretty sure I messed something up. (2021-03-20)
Henrik Juel: Thanks for your attempt, James
After 42.Kg7 the kings are paralyzed, so 44.Kg8 is illegal (2021-03-20)
Henrik Juel: move 41. should be Se8xf8, the S moving as a pawn because of Pg5 (2021-03-20)
James Malcom: Fixed. (2021-03-21)
Henrik Juel: Thanks, James
Apparently, Popeye permits black king to be captured, presumably by its Madrasi RI definition and/or the == stipulation
But Gerd does not agree, so the animation does not work
I do not like to see a capture of a king, myself, apart from within conditions that clearly define kings to be non-royal, like Schlagschach (2021-03-22)
