Henrik Juel: Nice capture-free proof game with several back-tracking moves and partially symmetrical play
Yoav Ben-Zvi: The primary thematic content lies in Turton doubling: 20.Rc3-e3 (WR crosses d3 for [BRh8]) with Switchback 22.Rc3-e3 and Bristol clearance: 8...0-0-0, 9...Kc8-b8 (BK crosses c8 for [BRh8]) with Switchback 24...Kb8-c8.
The main motivation for composing this problem is as a challenge for solving software in a capture-free game (essentially a piece-shuffle). (2018-04-24)
Henrik Juel: It was a challenge for my patience, at least
Natch 3.1 did not find the solution in an hour
Stopped at pos. 1 (2018-12-31)
ras@bsiag.com: Challenge accepted! Stelvio 0.94 can solve this in about 3h. It is C+. Admittedly, I threw a lot of hardware at it (but without parallelizing). I'm sure the solving time will be reduced considerably in the future. (2022-12-12)
