'Zürcher Illustrierte' 17.01.1930: "Die Königsflucht nach c5 muß hier offenbar um jeden Preis verhindert resp. bestraft werden. Bald zeigt sich, daß das überhaupt nur mit 1. Sa5 und dem drohenden 2. Sb7 resp. Dxc7 geschehen kann. Versucht der König nun eine Flucht nach der andern Seite (e5 oder e7), so fesselt er verhängnisvollerweise seinen besten Offizier (Se3) und gestattet damit Weiß mit Sxc4 resp. Sf5 den Todesstoß auszuführen."
