As indicated by Gerald, bK has to go to g8 to unlock the position, freeing bSg5.
When Ka3-a2 is retracted, previous white move places the 6 white Knights on black squares; the resulting Retro-Opposition implies that black is to play in the diagram position.

Hat man jedoch erstmal die thematisch relevanten Varianten herausgefiltert, dann kann man wohl nur noch begeistert sein: "Eine ganz starke Konzeption, für die sich die Löserqualen gelohnt haben." (CG) "Der wS umkreist den sK mit Schachgeboten, bis diesem die Luft ausgeht. Ein prächtiges Platzwechselmärchen mit logischem Touch!" (RJB) "Ein verwirrender Rundtanz mit eigenartigen Holzhausen-Effekten!" AB: Bei diesen unglaublichen Lösungen ist der Weihnachtsbaum nur noch Nebensache, weshalb ich den sSe4 ersatzlos streichen würde (ein richtiger Weihnachtsbaum verliert auch an Material ...). Eine Frage ist noch offen: wird bei einem Schlagfall zuerst der Imitator bewegt und dann wiedergeboren oder umgekehrt? Je nach Reihenfolge gibt es in der II. Lösung im Mattbild unterschiedliche Begründungen, warum 8.K:f2 nicht erlaubt ist. Im ersten Fall wäre nach 8.K:f2 [If7] der sB ohne Wiedergeburt vom Brett und der wK immer noch im Schach, im zweiten Fall wäre der Schlag nicht erlaubt, weil der sB auf f7 wiedergeboren würde und der Imitator nicht mehr nach f7 ziehen könnte. Skeptischer EB: Ich sehe da zwischen beiden Lösungen überhaupt keinen thematischen Zusammenhang, außer vielleicht den, dass aus einer Quasi-Symmetrie zwei asymmetrische Lösungen folgen. Da kann mich auch die Tannenbaumform nicht erwärmen?! Fazit von KHS: Eine bunte Mischung (mit einigen sauschweren Brocken, die ich mir nur angesehen habe, weil ich in der Weihnachtszeit etwas mehr Lösezeit als sonst aufbringen konnte); danke für das hübsche Weihnachtsgeschenk!

Joost de Heer: An AUW is promotion to all regular pieces. In Cavalier Majeur, a nightrider is the regular piece, not the knight, so a knight promotion would actually be a fairy promotion.

Frank Müller: Kevin: Alle Komponisten akzeptieren bei Circe Equipollents die Popeye-Regel. Es gibt in Circe Equipollents viele Probleme mit dem unbeweglichen Bauern auf der Grundreihe. Ich kenne aber kein Problem nach der WinCloe-Regel. Wo wurde je publiziert, das in Circe Equipollents ein Bauer auf der Grundreihe ziehen kann. Ich meine nirgends. Wieso soll das dann die Grundregel sein?? Beispielsweise in Platzwechselcirce ist der Bauer auf der Grundreihe auch unbeweglich.
Regeln werden nicht von den Programmieren erstellt, sondern von den Komponisten und ihren Problemen. Andernfalls führt jeder Fehler in einem Programm zu einer neuen Regel? (2011-01-18, hidden)

The first problem to my show pawns on the 1st rank in this condition is: PROBID='P1004036' (April, 2001). If you can provide the original rules, or an earlier example, please do so. If this exception was not specified in the original rules (as it was with PWC - which was not intended to be a circe form!), it should follow circe convention (as it does in Circe Parrain, Circe Cage, and virtually all other forms where pawns are reborn on the 1st). Rules are created by the fairy inventor - not the composer, not the programmer - and adopted by the larger community. Interpretations of this rule, based upon popeye's implementation, is not valid (did they ever correct the en passant bug?). (2011-01-19, hidden)

Note the comment in Die Schwalbe (heft 254 page 473) on precedence in problems combining “reflexmate” (any part MUST mate when possible) with “maximummer” (black MUST make his longest move). What happens, if these moves are not the same?

If the reflex condition takes precedence, the above solution holds. If the max condition takes precedence, the mate disappears because of the longer move 4.c8=nS nLf8!, thus making the problem unsolvable. (2013-03-12)
